In any case, I was successful on my first attempt to connect this device to my network. In addition, the interface is somewhat simplistic (I guess it should be) and the alert settings cannot be changed (unsure at what parameters will trigger alert notifications. I have to agree with other reviewers that the instructions are not all that clear. Given the negative reviews, I was skeptical in purchasing this item.
