If it works and the Batterytender now knows and is connected to your wifi SSID using your correct password, it will display success on your screen and the cryptic SSID will be gone. May have to hunt or back key from phone to find this screen in the app.

Next, using app and find the screen that asks for your SSID (must be a 2.4Ghz SSID not a 5Ghz SSID) and your SSID's password and enter it. If you don't know what a SSID is, look at notes below. This is the tricky part – Your Battery Tender Monitor is not connected to your router yet (it doesn’t have the SSID and password for your router). Start your Battery Tender App and see if the app recognized your device and proceeds with the configuration menu setup (I guess this is where most of the connection problems are encountered). Connect your Battery Tender Monitor to a 12 volt battery.

Download and install the Battery Tender App from the Play Store to your phoneĢ. The setup I used is similar to the setup for WIFI wall switchesġ. In any case, I was successful on my first attempt to connect this device to my network. In addition, the interface is somewhat simplistic (I guess it should be) and the alert settings cannot be changed (unsure at what parameters will trigger alert notifications. I have to agree with other reviewers that the instructions are not all that clear. Given the negative reviews, I was skeptical in purchasing this item.
